St. 约翰的大学 is a welcome home for students of many backgrounds 和 is committed to a supportive community celebrating people from a variety of backgrounds. Several donor-sponsored programs engender the kind of diversity believed to bolster conversation around the seminar table.
Regional 捐助者 Fund Student Scholars for 圣达菲 Campus

戴维斯学者. 约翰的 students who come to our school through the Davis United World College Scholars (DUWCS) program. The United World College system operates 17 boarding school campuses on four continents educating high school students from 155 countries through the International Baccalaureate program (IB). Our partnership with the United World Colleges brings many of our international students to 圣达菲 和 安纳波利斯, with the mutual strategic objective of advancing international underst和ing through education.
The DUWCS program provides financial support for undergraduate education through need-based scholarships. St. 约翰的 makes up the difference so that Davis UWC Scholars pay little or nothing for their education. Davis UWC Scholars are an excellent academic fit at St. 约翰的 due to their IB background 和 English language proficiency. 此外, they bring uniquely valuable international perspectives to the classroom 和 the entire college community, enriching the educational experience for all Johnnies.

The Summer Academy is one of the college’s most effective recruiting activities. Over 13 percent of students in the most recent freshman class were Summer Academy alumni.

Noah Baia (A22) attended Summer Academy twice before entering as a freshman in Fall 2018 和 is training to be a Resident Assistant for the Summer Academy. “Summer Academy played a 100 percent role in my choice to come to St. 约翰的. It helped that it wasn’t significantly more expensive than the other schools I was considering, since this was the place that I wanted to go the most.”
安德鲁W. Mellon Foundation supports the program for the summers of 2019 和 2020. It is anticipated that the Summer Academy will increase the likelihood of enrollment by African-American 和 low-income students in the classes matriculating in the fall of each year through August 2022.
